There will be an Allied Arts meeting at 10:00 am Monday, February 5th at the DFA Studio.
The meeting is open for anyone, there will be a discussion about who wants to work with the Basic Committees:
- Organizer
- Creative
- Inspirational writer
The club seems to be having a little trouble getting people motivated to sign up for the Allied Arts Committee.
Maybe a little review of the event and why it is important to the DFA and the community.
To new members you may not be familiar with the show if you have never attended before. It is a lovely opportunity for DFA to show it’s artistic side and people in the community seem to enjoy seeing our work.
We have a show in their gallery for the whole month of January every two years. We have a theme and a featured artist (usually a member of DFA) and we have docents there all the time to explain our work and answer questions. We challenge you to work on items you would like to display, and sometimes you like to work on something that compliments the theme picked for that year.
I won’t go into more details at this time, but we really need participation by DFA members or it may not happen.
We need to get the core committee established and on board . It’s best if 3-4 people serve together to make this happen.
