The Draw Loom study group will meet April 9th at the Guild House from 1-3pm.

You may have noticed long floats on Lisa’s project. Many thanks to Neil Kierulff and Judy Rice for analyzing the treadle 1 & 6 issue. Susan Schmieman spent a couple of hours tweaking the loom. She changed out the treddle 1 lam cord that had broken and been retied. She then adjusted tension, height of shafts, addressed broken threads, treddle height etc. With Marion laying on the floor and Susan operating the loom, we discovered that treddle 1 was in direct conflict with treddle 6, ie. the treddles were crossing and preventing the shaft from opening more than an inch.

After more adjustments…the draw loom is ready for action again. Can’t wait to see what magic Lisa Saget will
bring to the drawloom.

Exciting News! The Desert Fiber Arts Guild Library purchased Joanne Hall’s latest book all about the DRAWLOOM!
