This web page, northwestweavers.org/gallery/, is designed to feature exciting happenings in your guild, area and with your members. We haven’t had much response, so I want to personally double dare you and your guild to show off your talents and skills, fun events, exciting venues…and put the rest of us to shame for not doing the same. I promise a box of chocolates to the guild to step up first. You’ll garner immortality for yourself and your guild, and get to enjoy the formal presentation of this handsome award (chocolates) at the members meeting in May. Liz Moncrief ANWG Membership Chair

SEATTLE WEAVERS WORKSHOP There are still a few spots left in the Seattle Weavers Guild May workshop, Bumberet: A Weaver’s Recipe for 4-Shaft Ribs and Chicken Feet, scheduled on May 25-26, at the Phinney Neighborhood Center. Hungry for a hearty and versatile weave structure? This 4-shaft weave structure is a delight to work with. It is usually thought of as a warp dominant textured weave producing ribs (or chains) but it can also be woven as a flat cloth with a chevron pattern (the chicken feet). Learn how to introduce complex color patterns in a weave structure that is not often thought of as an example of “color and weave” and you’re on your way to designing unique cloth! Various methods for winding complex color patterns without a paddle will be demonstrated as well as how to design yarn wrappings that are great tools to sample warp color relationships. If you’re interested, please email the workshop co-chairs, Kathleen Veit and Anne Royalty ( ve***********@gm***.com and 4t**********@gm***.com).
