First, as the new Co-President of Desert Fiber Arts,
I want to say hello to both new and returning members. I am grateful to associate with so many talented individuals and want to thank all of you who give of your time and talents to make the DFA a professional, successful and welcoming organization. This couldn’t be accomplished without members committed to the DFA and its mission.
Just a few notes on the business side: The annual membership meeting was held on May 19th where new officers were elected and a potluck brunch enjoyed. The food was delicious. Since then I have been looking through our By-Laws and Policies, trying to get a feel for how things are run in this organization. We are in need of a Meeting Hostess who assists the Vice-President(s) in setting up the meeting place (chairs, hospitality table, guest book) and welcomes guests. If you are interested in this position please let me know.
And last, but not least, we have several fun things happening this summer including Dye in The Park (June), the Allison Hardy workshop (July), and the Fair (August). More information will be coming from the chairpersons of these events.
